Resilience Rehearsal

Resilience is not something we stumble upon.
It is something we practice.

After teaching our 18-day Trainer’s Training, I took a day off with Molly and Annelies.
We didn’t choose rest in the traditional sense. We chose resilience rehearsal.

On the shores of Lake Geneva, we moved between sauna heat and icy cold plunges.
The temperature difference was about 40 degrees. It sounds indulgent, but it was purposeful stress.

Controlled stress practices, like cold plunges, saunas, or intense exercise, are not about suffering.
They are about teaching the body and mind to adapt. This is called hormetic stress.

Short, manageable doses of discomfort trigger adaptive responses in the nervous, cardiovascular, and immune systems.
Circulation improves. Metabolism strengthens. Emotional stability deepens.

More importantly, the mind learns. It learns that it can endure.
It learns that it can recover. It learns that stress and recovery are partners, not enemies.

This is resilience rehearsal. It is a biological and psychological training ground.
It builds flexibility, reduces reactivity, and strengthens confidence.

When life throws unexpected challenges, the body remembers.
It knows how to stay calm, focused, and resourceful.

So here is the question for you:
What deliberate discomfort are you willing to embrace?
Where can you practice resilience before life demands it?
How might purposeful stress prepare you for your next breakthrough?

Resilience is not built in comfort.
It is built in rehearsal.

Warmly,

gina 🙂
