To clear away the blocks. To shine a light on the path.
To help someone step into what has always been theirs.
Here’s the mistake most people make about mentoring: they think it’s about transferring information.
But information is everywhere. It’s in books, in podcasts, in classrooms, in conversations.
What matters isn’t the transfer. What matters is the transformation.
A true mentor sees the patterns early. How you do anything is how you do everything.
And when those patterns are revealed, the person begins to see themselves differently. That shift changes everything.

I’ve always had a soft spot for mentoring young women.
These past weeks have reminded me why.
I saw the greatness in Amy years ago, and watching her thrive at our Trainer’s Training on her path to Master Trainer was pure joy.
She stretched herself, performed with little or no warning, and reminded me that courage often shows up in the moment.
She even encouraged me to live a little and order a giant dessert at dinner, and I loved every bite.
I was also honored to mentor my brilliant daughter, Molly, as she stepped into her own path toward becoming a Master Trainer. Watching her lead a demo day for the students, including her partner Annelies, filled me with pride.
Annelies herself crushed the content and showed the confidence of a future NLP Trainer.
Moments like these remind me to look up, smile, and savor the journey.
The deepest truth about mentoring is this: you’re not building followers.
You’re building leaders. Leaders who will go on to lead others.
That’s multiplicative impact. One breakthrough doesn’t change one’s life.
It changes thousands.
Reveal greatness.
That’s the calling of a mentor.
That’s the ripple effect of leadership.
